The Americas’ fan base has been rapidly growing throughout 2017. Their sound is infectious and vibrant, latest single “Something’s Gonna Happen” displays all the hallmarks of a musical anthem.
Opening with a catchy, echoey mix of guitar chords the song is perhaps best suited to late summer evenings and festival sing alongs alike. It mixes well between drum beat and bass-line to create strong repetition in its chorus.
The Americas have enjoyed heaps of critical success since their formation picking up support from relevant institutions such as This Feeling, BBC Introducing and Fred Perry’s Subculture programme. Just this week their latest single has been named as This Feeling’s Radio X ‘Track Of The Week’ and will achieve radio play like no other. The Birmingham band have been onto something special for a while now, we can’t wait to see what they have planned next!
“The Americas are effortlessly cool which only helps to bring further intrigue to their live performances”
“Something’s Gonna Happen” is perhaps one of the most positive, upbeat releases of recent times. One can only imagine it will remain relevant in the live setting for years to come. The Americas are effortlessly cool and such confidence is indicated in their recent single.
The latest outing, released 29th August, follows “Hot Minute.” Released earlier this year, the latter is anthemic once more and wouldn’t sound out of place within seminal Rolling Stones album ‘Exile On Main Street.’ In fact, the band’s name channels similar inspirations, most of their tracks could become part of the perfect soundtrack to a cross-American road trip. You should also look out for debut single “Tenth Day Of May” which is arguably the heaviest example of their sound but still manages to achieve similar confidence in both complexion and lyricism.
The Americas are effortlessly cool which only helps to bring further intrigue to their live performances. Having spent much of this summer wowing festival crowds across the country on world renowned stages at Y Not, Tramlines and Reading Festival the Birmingham formed band now head on a tour of their own. Having already headed to Liverpool and Manchester, the coming weeks see them play important dates at London’s Nambucca and Sheffield’s Rocking Chair. However, their hometown return to Birmingham’s Sunflower Lounge will be a true ‘I was there’ moment, a gig which cannot be missed!
Overall, “Something’s Gonna Happen” is perhaps the band’s most impressive track to date. The Americas have an ability to bring mesmerising positivity to the listeners’ mind.
