If 2017 was the year of the small, city festival, 2018 is gonna take some beating! Victorious Festival has this year announced a whole host of impressive, world renowned names including The Libertines, Paul Weller and The Prodigy.
Located on the picturesque Southsea Seafront, the August Bank-Holiday Weekend Festival offers a credible alternative and welcome escape to the seaside. Alongside already announced headliners come the likes of The Cribs, Kaiser Chiefs, Sleaford Mods and Shed Seven alongside many more.
“Victorious Festival 2018 is sublime. It offers a MASSIVE line-up whilst still being the perfect seaside getaway.”
The festival offers numerous new, up and coming bands on its line up. This is a mouth watering prospect for ‘eudaemonia,’ we’re personally looking forward to catching the likes of Yonaka, Cabbage, Cassia, The Orielles and more. Also on the lineup are Reverend & The Makers, The Amazons, Years and Years and Brian Wilson. Resultantly, it is very much true that Victorious Festival offers something for everyone.
The ever growing festival is made up of numerous stages and activities. Clashing perfectly with the main stage comes its acoustic stage, an escape into more dulcet towns. Kids areas are a plenty with market stalls and craft beer vendors all lining festival pathways.
What is perhaps most intriguing is the festival’s World Music Village where one can be metaphorically transported around the globe. Including within this festival sector is a variety of top performances from live world music bands, solo artists and DJs to spoken word and Tai-Chi Workshops. Victorious itself suggests that the People’s Lounge, also within the World Music Village, aims to “bring together the eclectic array of Portsmouth’s movements, sounds and people to create a festive fusion of art, beauty and love.”
The Libertines are set to head to Victorious with the seaside already firmly in their minds as they prepare for the opening of a hotel and recording studio in Margate, Kent. What with this and a fourth album in the works, one can assume that their Victorious Set will be memorable.
With Paul Weller taking to the stage on the Saturday evening, it is The Prodigy who come to Portsmouth in the most exciting of manners. This UK Festival Exclusive will see the iconic band in their prime environment, they are arguably THE greatest festival prospect of all.
All in all, Victorious Festival 2018 is sublime. It offers a MASSIVE line-up whilst still being the perfect seaside getaway.
