Today, Mac DeMarco has announced Here Comes the Cowboy. Set for a Spring 2019 release, it marks DeMarco’s fourth full-length studio release.
The announcement comes as the singer/songwriter announced a large outdoor show in Margate, Kent. Taking place at the delightful Dreamland complex, it will see a day of music, rides and summer vibes. The June 29th gig also comes alongside a string of UK and EU festival dates including Holland’s Best Kept Secret and London’s All Points East.
Written and mixed in his Jizz Jazz Studios in Los Angeles, it sees nearly ebery instrument on the album played by the singer songwriter. Calling it his “cowboy record,” a statement suggests that it has links to his youth and cowboy upbringing.
With the announcement comes the release of the exceptionally calm “Nobody.” Though the video is somewhat frightful, the track is both reflective and mature. News broke earlier today via Reddit. Fans shared and commented in speculation to a record which follows 2017s highly successful This Old Dog.
Glastonbury goers will too be provoked by the news. Margate’s June 29th gig comes at the same time as the world famous festival. Will he make an appearance in Pilton?
