London is a hotbed of gigs, perhaps the best music city in the world. Here are just some of the gigs we’ve got our eye on this week!
20/08: Ride
The shoegaze pioneers return to the London suburbs in celebration of new album This Is Not A Safe Place. Post-reunion albums are often strange territory. Not for these guys – it truly compliments their already strong musical legacy.
Where? New Slang (Kingston)
22/08: The Murder Capital
Another album launch gig. This time, The Murder Capital head East in celebration of debut LP When I Have Fears. They are one of the rawest bands of our time, see for yourself!
Where? Rough Trade East ( Shoreditch)
23/08: Drahla
The Shacklewell Arms is celebrating its 8th birthday, Drahla’s London return will be nothing short of exciting. The Leeds band is creatively exceptional, listen to Useless Coordinates for evidence.
Where? Shacklewell Arms (Hackney)
24/08: Latenight Honeymoon
The Finsbury is one of London’s great new music hangouts. Latenight Honeymoon top a bill made up of Thelma Ball, The Amber Bugs and Fiende Fatale. Expect an intrinsically exciting brand of colourful indie-pop.
Where? The Finsbury
25/08: Jigsaw Festival
Benumu and Ticketmaster host an exceptional night of new music. Check out Dutch Mustard (they feature in our playlist, #CLICKONTHIS), one of London’s most exciting new bands. The fuzzy four-piece are redefining alt-rock in their own musical style. Also on the bill are The Novus, Lion Machine, Serratone and Civil Partnership.
Where? Camden Assembly (Camden)
