Chappaqua Wrestling have a sound well suited to the ever-growing backdrop of dystopia in modern Britain. ‘The Rift’ rattles into such conflict in true sublimity.

The Charlie Woods fronted band are enticingly nomadic. From roots in South London and NW England, the now find themselves in the centre Brighton’s musical hum. With such musical decadence, their tracks come are a true commentary of our time.

‘The Rift’ centres on conflict. Inspired especially by the divisions of our time. 2020 feels like somewhat of a global boiling point and the track turns that into powerful hyperbole. The lyrical inspiration comes from The Masque of Anarchy by Percy Bysshe Shelley, a poem written in the wake of Manchester’s Peterloo Massacre.

If history tells us anything, it is cyclical. We need to change now, for the better, or else!
