Summer 2020 will forever be known as somewhat of a forgotten summer. Whilst Fever’s ‘Honesty’ hints at what might have been, it also acts as yet another reminder of the musical credibility.
The track is a whimsical throwback to instantly recognisable indie-pop colours. The summer-closing anthem is soothingly heartfelt, a plea for truth in romantic infatuation. Musically vibrant, the track is vulnerable, something quite rare amongst guitar-clad musical contemporaries.
The year opened with much promise after a run of sold out shows. Not to be tamed by global pandemic, the five piece quickly commissioned a series of online appearance with lockdown sessions and covers – this being the result of exceptionally clever thinking from singer-songwriter, James Harrod.
Speaking on the track, Harrod says: “‘Honesty’ is a song about being at the make or break point with someone you like. It’s saying we could keep on playing these games with each other or we can just be honest and see what happens.”
The band look forward the a more vibrant 2021, Covid permitting.
