Sprints’ musical delivery is outrageous. ‘Drones’ is yet another perfect entry point for the Dublin based band.
The track is layered with hypnotic guitar hooks and menacing vocals. The four-piece channel inspiration from garage, grunge and punk alike, all expressed mesmerically in ‘Drones.’ Mimicking somewhat of an anxiety attack through lyric and sound alike, it is desperately well suited to the current climate.
Sprints have garnered a tonne of support from contemporaries and fans alike, in spite of their relatively minimal back catalogue. With an EP in the pipeline, one expects them to embark on a stupendously successful 2021.
Speaking on the track, Karla Chubb says: “Drones is very literally about my struggles with imposter syndrome. I think being a female in music, I struggle a lot with feeling like I have something to prove. It’s not okay for me to just be good, I have to be great”
Haemorrhaging sound in a whole manner of directions, ‘Drones’ oozes confidence from a band set to shatter the proverbial glass ceiling.
