We exist in an age of dystopian class struggle. Animal Breakdown narrate such an era in clever new single ‘Almost Lost.’
The track is entirely atmospheric, an ode to the London based band’s musical intrepidness. Intriguing lyricism meets with drum bear and riff in a sturdy manner. It’s chorus is entirely melodic, like a Cure/Cribs lovechild, circa 1982.
The track was recorded over the course of a weekend retreat in Brighton alongside Wynter Prior (AudioBeach Studios). It’s heavy production qualities perhaps influenced by the latter. Documenting a narrative of class struggle and uncertainty, ‘Almost Lost’ is emblematic of its time.
Channeling DIY creatives by self-releasing, the band found industry success with third single ‘Night Garden.’ Born from family tragedy and broken-heart, Martin Lynch, Josef Mitchell and Marco Nikic form a band as raw as it is talented.
With a ferocious live show, we long for the return of the gig if only to catch ‘Almost Lost’ in the live setting.
