Keep up to date with THE BLINDERS
Fantasies Of A Stay At Home Psychopath, released in 2020, was significant. It closed a significant period in the band’s existence. Over a year on, the release of ‘City We Call Love’ symbolises the beginning of the band’s second era.
If the track is anything to go by, the Manchester based band are cultivating a sound of scalability. Like it or not, the dystopian twang of their previous two albums lacks longevity, even if one single found its way onto television via a mainstream betting company.
The latest single is both clever and atmospheric. An eerie guitar riff underpins lyrics ridden with vivid imagery and metaphor. If a new sphere is sound is cultivated, the instantly recognisable bass of The Blinders remains.
‘City We Call Love’ offers are great pedestal as album three comes ever closer.
With a new lineup and a series of shows with The Cribs in the pipeline, one can only expect the next twelve months to be wondrously fruitful.
